This one was a bit lighter than the first one。 Despite the violence， this one was not as harsh as the first book in the series。 Certain points of the books were annoying because of the new characters that were introduced and how the author tried to tie in a love story， but overall the story line was a good continuation of the first one。 I’d recommend this one and I’m eager to read the next one。

Going into this book i was completely shook by the huge difference in the plot between the movie and the book！ It was like a completely different story， yet i loved it。 I felt directly involved in the journey of the gladers through the scorch trials， felt the sadness， the hurt， the full stomach feeling whenever they had access to food; and i mostly felt the betrayal， as if it was me who was betrayed。。。 This is a satisfying sequel to the masterpiece that is "The maze runner" Going into this book i was completely shook by the huge difference in the plot between the movie and the book！ It was like a completely different story， yet i loved it。 I felt directly involved in the journey of the gladers through the scorch trials， felt the sadness， the hurt， the full stomach feeling whenever they had access to food; and i mostly felt the betrayal， as if it was me who was betrayed。。。 This is a satisfying sequel to the masterpiece that is "The maze runner" 。。。more

Okay， to start out， I want to say why I left one star out。 This book was slow around the middle and I didn’t read it for close to an entire week。 True， ever since I read Harry Potter， books haven’t been grabbing my interest as much， but still， anyone would’ve said this book was slow at times。 But omg， this book was amazing。 If I had been as invested in this book as I was with Harry Potter， I would be dying with emotions right now。 There is SO MUCH emotion in this book。 It was great！ It was PER Okay， to start out， I want to say why I left one star out。 This book was slow around the middle and I didn’t read it for close to an entire week。 True， ever since I read Harry Potter， books haven’t been grabbing my interest as much， but still， anyone would’ve said this book was slow at times。 But omg， this book was amazing。 If I had been as invested in this book as I was with Harry Potter， I would be dying with emotions right now。 There is SO MUCH emotion in this book。 It was great！ It was PERFECT。 Heart breaking， infuriating， confusing， saddening。 Just everything！ The character development in this book was great， better than the first book。 You truly learned every characters personality in this one while in the first one the characters were kind of shells besides the two or three main characters。 I was satisfied。 Now， the plot。 *inhales dramatically* It was genius。 Just。。。 never ending pain and hardships for the characters and this probably makes me sound like a monster but I love it when the characters are having some good hardship moments。 There was the perfect balance of emotion in this book。 Yes， we’re back to emotion。 It was just so perfectly balanced！ I recommend this series for people who enjoy action， romance， heart break， adventure， and some good humor sometimes。 Oh， and mystery。 Enjoy！ 。。。more
